Oscars Go 'Frozen': Idina Menzel to Perform 'Let It Go'

It's a go for "Let It Go" at this year's Academy Awards. Idina Menzel will perform the song from Disney's Frozen for the first time on TV during ABC's March 2 broadcast of the ceremony, Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron revealed Tuesday

"Let It Go" is nominated for Best Original Song, along with "Happy" from Despicable Me 2, "Ordinary Love" from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and "The Moon Song" from Her.

Though she was born Mary Louise, Meryl Streep has made a name for herself that's synonymous with success.

The formidable actress is an 18-time Academy Award nominee, which is more than any other actor in history. That's a whopping six nominations more than Katherine Hepburn and Jack Nicholson, both currently tied for second place. Streep's most recent Oscar nomination is for "Best Actress" for her performance in August: Orange County.

It might be impossible to think we could ever glean even a molecule of Streep's essence of amazingness, but you couldn't find a better role model. Not just in acting, but in all life's aspects, her graceful, yet powerful nature should be reflected on by all. Read more...

'Gravity' Spinoff Reveals Unseen Side of Sandra Bullock's Cry for Help

A scene in Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity shows astronaut Ryan Stone (played by Sandra Bullock) fearing for her life as she is low on oxygen and trapped inside a Russian escape pod in space. She tries to call NASA, but Stone instead reaches the radio of Inuit fisherman Aningaaq, who doesn't speak English.

The movie doesn't reveal the fisherman's face. A short companion film, however, gives us a look of what happened on the other end of Stone's call.

Titled Aningaaq, the seven-minute film focus on Stone's conversation with the man, who sits in snow-covered Greenland surrounded by sled dogs and presumably his wife and child. The movie captures the moment Stone goes from thinking she is about to be saved to realizing that the last words she may ever speak will not be understood. Read more...

James Franco's 'Sal' Trailer Explores Gay Actor's Final Moments

A new trailer for Sal, the James Franco-directed independent film about A Rebel Without a Cause movie star Sal Mineo, gives us a glimpse into the final hours of one of Hollywood's first openly gay mainstream actors.

Sal will arrive via video-on-demand and iTunes on Oct. 22, followed by a limited theatrical release on Nov. 1. Franco co-stars in the film as the famous director and acting coach Milton Katselas, while Val Lauren will play the biopic's namesake.

Mineo was a star In the late 1950s and early '60s, having been nominated for multiple Oscars. His fame faded over time, and in 1976, a supposedly random stabbing ended his life. Read more...
